✦ Hi, welcome! I go by Lumi, I'm 32 years old and use she/they pronouns usually. You can often find me on my main blog, aamaranthiine, where I write the Lady Amalthea from The Last Unicorn.
I live on the west coast of the USA and work a full time job, 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.✦ This blog is private and mutuals only, and it's activity will be very sporadic and low. My life can be busy between work and other obligations, and I am also diagnosed with depression, which can affect my energy for writing.✦ Thank you for taking the time to read my carrd and I look forward to writing with you.

IMPORTANT PORTRAYAL NOTES
My portrayal is definitely canon divergent for a few reasons: the most obvious being his change in name. When Lazarus survived the destruction of Luxendarc, he decided to take on a new first name in an attempt to move on from the catastrophe.
To the discerning eye, Lazarus is a vampire. But in truth, he is merely an exceptionally skilled wizard who has learned to mimic the likeness and proclivities of vampires. He is still technically living; his heart beats, he breathes and bleeds. It is just these mannerisms are quieted and hidden from detection.
BIOGRAPHY
SUMMARY Once sole heir to the Ducal House of DeRosso in the Kingdom of Eternia, born Lester DeRosso, he would have enjoyed a life of wealth, privilege and responsibility. His family were respected and admired, with close ties to the Eternian Royal Family.
At a young age, Lester entered the faith of the Crystal Adventists; the main sect of religion in Luxendarc whose reverence for the 4 Crystals of the world defined their beliefs. The Crystals of Earth, Wind, Water and Fire all brought life and balance to the world since its creation.
Lester rose quickly through the Church - all the way to a Cardinal by the time he was a young adult. The Church would then shift from the Adventists to the Orthodoxy, where they sought to elect a Grand Patriarch to lead them. In the election, Lester discovered there was scheming and bribery - he rejected a bribe from another Cardinal and scolded his brother-in-faith.
This would spark the domino effect leading to his doom. A fraudulently elected Patriarch with grandiose plans to control all 4 Crystals and the whole of Luxendarc itself. Lester's defiance, small though it was, resulted in his home and family being put to the sword when the Orthodoxy orchestrated a coup against the King.
As Lester's ancestral home was put to flame, his parents murdered and the betrayal of his Church laid clear before him, he would have died in angry despair.
Until it was that a mysterious force, a voice, offered him salvation from his Death - eternal life to wreak vengeance upon the Orthodoxy, he accepted.There were greater machinations at hand though, for all of Luxendarc. It is a long tale fraught with destruction and ill-fate. His world fell millennia later to catastrophe, torn asunder by a malevolent cosmic entity. Lester survived the disaster - spared by Fate perhaps - and where ever he wanders now, he seeks new purpose.
ABILITIES
Mimicry || Lazarus' most unique talent. He can learn, copy and retain the special powers, magic and attack patterns of monsters and humanoids. The caveat being he has to be hit by them first but, he is quite durable. Not all powers can be retained permanently, they allow him a limited amount of uses in a time period.
Wizardry || Magic that is learned and controlled through a blend of spoken, written and somantic skills. Skilled in multiple fields of the arcane, primarily using a mix of script and verbal craft to harness and cast spells. Lazarus is a very powerful wizard in his own right.
Vampiric Affinities || In his pursuit to fit the role of a Vampire, Lazarus has taught himself a multitude of talents related to their kind. He can turn into mist and a single or swarm of bats. He can steal the life force / energy of others through their blood to replenish and heal himself. Enhanced physical attributes and durability - as well as levitating and limited flight.
Immortality || Lazarus will not physically age past the point he was "turned", at 43. He is immune to sickness, disease and cannot be killed by major injury. Short of ripping him to pieces - he will live forever.
Channel Divinity || A remnant of his time as a Man of Faith; Lazarus can still rarely use divine and holy based magics. He still retains his beliefs despite committing blasphemy - but accessing these powers is very draining and only for specific circumstances.
Combat Training || Part of his education as a youth was learning to fight using weapons, primarily swords and polearms. He's had centuries to grow this skill and keep himself knowledgeable and practiced. Lazarus' primary weapon is a crimson longsword he can summon and dimiss at a whim.
Weaknesses & Drawbacks || Any spell casting or arcane use drains stamina, the more powerful the ability, the heftier the cost. No longer bolstered by his ties to the Crystals of Luxendarc, his Divine magic is even weaker. Blessed silver stings and burns him.
